Identity Politics, Indeed
Pundits love to talk about how cheap it is that black people vote for Obama because he's black, rather than because of some substantive agreement of the issues. I will direct them to the results of the Utah primary:

Romney: 90%
McCain: 5%
Paul: 4%
Huckabee: 1%

No one has berated the Mormons for voting for one of their own. But then again I forgot it's ok to vote for someone because of their religion, but not their skin color, gender, etc.

Obviously every black woman in the country faces the toughest political dilemma of a lifetime: To vote for Hillary because she's a woman or to vote for Obama because he's black. They must choose between gender and race, because obviously there's nothing else about the candidates that could tip their vote one way or the other...and of course there's no reason any of them would vote for anyone else.

People always vote for who is the closest to resembling them...

Which is why Bush won two elections on the "I sure does talk like I'm not smart just like you folk, nucular weapons in the hands of terreriststs" strategy.
