Who knew I liked lentils?
Best meal I've had in awhile:

Spicy Chicken with rice and lentils from Nazareth Restaruant & Deli.

Lentils are awesome, and quite easy to prepare.

Excellent website, I'd imagine the owner is a bit of a goofy guy from the bottom.

"161 & Cleveland Ave"...I still can't get over that, you're living in my old backyard.

That saying is plastered all over the restaurant. I'm pretty sure its at the bottom of the menu, too.

I will mention that the interior has a decent middle-eastern feel to it. There is a coherent motif...except for the one wall that has a huge US flag mural; it totally kills the atmosphere. Now I'm sure the guy loves his country (he's been here long enough, I assume he's a naturalized citizen) as much as the rest of us, but I'd lay damn good odds he had that thing installed on Sept. 12, 2001.

Seeing that huge flag made me a bit upset, really. It puts some stock in the idea that us crackers are assumed to be A+, #1 patriots, but the swarthy guy from "over there" has to prove it. It's ridiculous.

That's too bad about the flag. Easy to understand why it happens, but it sucks that it has to be like that...unfortunately he's got to worry about "appearances" more than usual.

Obviously, if there's anything crackers love more than their US flags, it's "foreigners" who like US flags too.

Yeah, and if you want to stop by sometime when you're back in town, my door is always open. Of course, there's zero room here, but I'd be happy to take a trip down memory lane with you.

My mother-in-law bought this spicy salt...

So it's got sea salt, herbs, and pepper corns all in there.
Then it was too spicy, so die schwiegermutter left it when she went back to the Old Country.
Irritates my wife to see me lay that on the food.
